I Loathe it?
It pains me to say it but I’m afraid I’m in the loathe exercise camp. Well maybe loathe might be a bit strong. Perhaps! I really do wish I liked it. I envy people who can go out for a run, put the music on and just get in the zone. It must be amazing to just run your troubles away. Believe me, I’ve tried. I just can’t do it.
I’ve tried them all
Over the years I’ve tried lots of different exercise classes. From step aerobics, swimming, tennis and yoga (which I do love but unfortunately can’t find a class to fit) to spinning (oh my word I thought I was going to die). I even joined a gym and was a member there for several years, but I found I spent more time in the sauna than actually working out.
Am I growing to love it?
More recently, I’ve given a new form of exercise a go. After meeting some ladies outside the school gates who were handing out flyers I thought why not. So, I’m giving boxercise a try. So far so good! It’s a ladies only group which is great as it certainly helped with the first-night nerves. Everyone is a similar fitness level although there are some hardcore ladies who attend 3-5 times a week. The club also offer boxing sessions and circuit training among other things so there is something for everyone. The ladies are lovely and the instructor is great, she really puts us through our paces. Every week is something different. As the name suggests it’s a mix of boxing and exercise. It’s great fun, especially if you’ve been having a particularly stressful day. You can just take out all that stress on the bag. Take a look at some of the things we get up to here
Will I stick at it?
Well, I’m going to do my best. Even in this heat I’ve only missed a couple of classes. I’ve got my own pair of gloves and wraps and certainly look the part. My fitness levels are slowly improving and I do feel great after I’ve been, I’m even considering going twice a week. So that either means I enjoy it or feel that I need it. Whichever one it is I’m sticking with it. Maybe I’ve finally found the exercise that works for me. What’s your exercise story? Love it? Loathe it? I’d love to hear what works for you.
Zumba and Zumba Stong SBZ which is HIT and Zumba moves to chronographed tracks, 2-3 times a week.
